• Welcome to Edison Elementary School, home of the Eagles!

I am Carmen Labrecque, the proud and happy principal of Edison Elementary.  This has been my home going on 14 years now!  I still very much love it and am super proud of all that we have accomplished.  I truly believe in my staff and our commitment to the betterment of our students.  At the end of the day, we want all students to thrive in all aspects of academics and be good humans.

Edison is proud of its years of excellence and achievement in the Glendale community. Edison is not only a California Distinguished School but is also recognized as a Title 1 Achieving School. In addition, our Spanish Dual Immersion Program is recognized as an International Spanish Academy by the Spanish Embassy. We are proud of the hard work of our 870 students in grades kindergarten through sixth and our tremendous faculty and staff members.

Every member of our staff is committed to working in partnership with our parents and community to provide the highest quality education. At Edison Elementary we embrace and celebrate each student’s unique contributions, and inspire each student to thrive academically, socially, and emotionally. We have created a caring community in which students are encouraged to focus on respect, responsibility, and safety.  Our instructional program uses a variety of strategies and methods to ensure that every child succeeds. Edison has an active parent community who support us through their membership and involvement with PTO and TEEF, volunteering in the classroom, and helping their children practice new skills. The support of the Glendale community enables us to have outstanding programs, which make a significant difference in the lives of our students. Working together toward a shared vision of high expectations for student achievement and conduct, enable our students to demonstrate personal success and become confident, lifelong learners.
