Victoria is a second-year student in A.W. Beattie’s Veterinary Sciences program. She will attend Penn West California for the Veterinary Technology program. She plans to earn her VTNE and begin her career working with small animals before working her way up to large animals.

“I always grew up loving animals and got involved in 4H,” Victoria said. “I remember being really young and there was a horse with stiches in its eye. Everyone else thought it was gross and I thought it was interesting. Having the opportunity to be in Beattie’s program only made my career decision more set in stone because I enjoyed everything I learned.”

Victoria’s academic achievements include Highest Honor Roll, 4.0 or higher, throughout high school, National Honor Society, National Technical Honors Society and Tri M Music Honor Society. She also earned third place in SkillsUSA in the Job Skills Demo competition.

Victoria participated in the Shaler Area Marching Band and was the Clarinet section leader for two years. She participated in 4H North Ridge Riders and served at different times as the President, Vice President, Secretary and Reporter. She performed in the Shaler Area Spring Musical orchestra on Clarinet and Bass Clarinet and was a Beattie Ambassador.

“Honestly, sometimes there’s not a lot of sleep but I enjoyed,” Victoria said. “I also learned a lot about multitasking along the way.”

Victoria has also been involved in her community and has volunteered in the Stay-At-Home Mission Work Camp, the Cloverbud Camp and Marching Band fundraisers. She also served on the Shaler Area School District Superintendent’s Student Advisory Board.

“I wanted to be involved in a lot of different things to keep myself busy and to give myself a well-rounded high school experience,” Victoria said. “These are experiences that I know I wouldn’t have gotten at any other time in my life, and I was lucky to meet a lot of really great friends through everything I did.”
