Vet Sci Senior of the Year details plans

Congratulations to North Allegheny School District’s Sarah Offner who was named Senior of the Year in our Veterinary Sciences program!

Sarah will attend Slippery Rock University and dreams of having a career in Equine Therapy!

“Working with horses, I have realized how much strength, healing and enjoyment they have given me,” Sarah said. “I would like to return the same to them in anyway possible.”

Having been involved in 4-H horseback riding, Sarah decided hands-on experience with animals would be valuable before attending college.

“I immediately fell in love with the program and decided to further my education in this field,” Sarah said. “I enjoyed interacting with my teachers in addition to working hands on with the animals. They really helped prepare me for this field. They are really amazing teachers.”

Sarah’s favorite story to tell about the class involves life imitating art.

“The race of the tortoise and the hare - we had a Tortoise and Hare race one day,” Sarah said. “The tortoise won just like in the story.”
