Nursing student earns Community Service Award

Congratulations to North Allegheny School District senior Ashley Weidinger who was one of two students to earn the Community Service Award!

Ashley has volunteered in a variety of ways through her church on mission trips, Girl Scouts, and local hospitals. She also volunteered as a Beattie Ambassador.

“I like to stay involved with things in the community and try to make everyone happy,” Ashley said. “I dressed up as the Easter Bunny one time for a lot of little kids. I’ve done some other things, too.”

Ashley is a third-year student in Beattie’s Health and Sciences program.

“I’ve loved it, and everyone in our group is really close, me, Maya and Bri started together along with other students we had class with last year,” Ashley said. “Mrs. Dietz has been a great teacher for us, and we’ve learned everything from different ways to move patients to different procedures in EKG, Phlebotomy, and stress testing.”

Ashley plans to attend Robert Morris University for its Nursing program.

Good Luck Ashley!
