We asked students why they are thankful for A.W. Beattie
As we celebrate National Career and Technical Education Month, we asked several students why they are thankful for A.W. Beattie. Here are their responses:
"I enjoy everything (in Health and Nursing Sciences). This is helping me launch into my future. I think once I'm in college this experience will be very helpful because I'm learning a lot. I want to use what I'm learning to go to college to become a pediatric nurse." Steyci Vazquez, Deer Lakes
"My experience at A.W. Beattie has been overwhelmingly positive, and I recommend any student who is interested to give it a chance and find the right program for you. One of the qualities I love about Beattie is that we are all committed to learn because we intentionally decided to be here and no one forced us to go. The program that I selected, Robotics, has been invaluable to my education and is a field that I am passionate about. My time at Beattie allowed me to further research into robotics and understand my future. As a high schooler, it is one of the most important decisions I’ve made, and I have no regrets." Caleb Gratner, Northgate
"I love Pastry Arts and now I have a chance to work on my time management and work with other people which I wouldn’t get to do at my house or any other situation. I also always have a lot of fun, and it’s just something I love to do." Lyla Hartle, Deer Lakes
"I love working with my hands so (Carpentry and Building Construction) has definitely shown me how much I want to do this in the future. I want to be a carpenter and framer. I enjoy everything about the program and how we connect and work together." Cassandra Tadda, Northgate
"I really like Beattie because it has given me so many opportunities to earn certifications and a head start in a field I want to go into. After three years of learning in Dental, I will go to Pitt’s Dental Hygiene school." Katie Bishoff, Hampton Township
"My whole family has worked in the medical field and I have always known that I want to continue that tradition. Beattie is a good place to start before my post-secondary education at (Butler County Community College) for Nursing." Luke Polito, Pine-Richland
"Beattie has given me the opportunity to expand my knowledge of networking and cyber security in the dedicated hour and a half (each day) that I have had for it. In this time, I was able to pursue my interests while at the same time prepare for CompTIA exams, which Beattie would pay for, helping to build my resume when I would join the workforce after college." - Mintas Ivaska, Pine-Richland
