A.W. Beattie releases plans drafted for the 2020-21 school year

Dear Students and Parents,

We truly appreciate your patience as we continue to navigate towards the Re-Opening of the Career Center for the 2020 – 2021 school term.  The plans that we have developed focus on providing the valuable, hands-on experience that our students wish to participate in while maintaining the health and safety of the students and staff in the best manner that is feasibly possible.  To maintain the health and safety protocols that are a must, the students attending in-person must abide by the handwashing, face mask utilization and health and safety guidelines for us to offer the highest quality education possible given the present circumstances.

Our process has involved following the changing guidance from the Allegheny County Health Department and the PA Department of Health, along with the PA Department of Education.  The Career Center has been actively involved with the consortium school districts and education leaders from other career and technical centers.  Our plans will be finalized and approved by the Joint Operating Committee on Thursday, August 20, 2020.  Our plans address health and safety first for everyone on the Beattie campus.

The Career Center mission is to empower each student to become a successful professional in a continuously evolving regional and global economy through equitable access to the latest industry standards and technology education.  The attached Hybrid plan allows for Hands-on and Remote Distance Learning in Scene #1 and provides for Full Remote Distance Learning in Scene #2.  Families are able to select the option that best fits their family’s needs.  In each scenario, A.W. Beattie Career Center instructors will be providing the education.  Additionally, all student services will be available for students and their families.

Please complete the Student Enrollment Selection Form to make the selection of method of instruction for the first grading period.

Please make sure to continue checking the website for updated information.  Please address any questions that you may have to: info@beattietech.com.

Be Safe.

Respectfully,

Eric Heasley
