A.W. Beattie receives seventh reported COVID-19 case

Wednesday, November 18, 2020

Dear A.W. Beattie Career Center families and students,

The Career Center received notification that a student has reported to have tested positive for COVID-19. The student was last present on the Career Center campus during the AM class session of the Cosmetology program on Friday, November 6th. Based on the students last day of attendance we have been advised there is not contact tracing required.

The Career Center is cleaning nightly following EPA and CDC guidelines, along with cleaning between our attendance sessions with electrostatic sprayers to sanitize high-touch areas. There is hand sanitizer throughout the building and in each classroom. We are providing bottle water for staff and students so that drinking fountains remain closed off.  Students have been outstanding regarding the wearing of face masks and/or shields, we appreciate their efforts. Please check with your students in the morning before they leave for school, if they are not feeling well have them stay home.

This is the seventh reported student COVID-19 case reported to the Career Center. The Career Center would have three active student cases and no cases amongst the staff. At this time all reported student cases have come from events outside of the Career Center. We will continue to provide families with updates as warranted so that you are informed to the best of our abilities.

The health and safety of our students and staff is very important is us. Anyone who experiences any of the signs and symptoms of COVID-19 is urged to contact their primary care physician immediately.

We appreciate your continued support and understanding.

Be Safe.

A.W. Beattie Career Center Staff and Administration
