A.W. Beattie Coronavirus Update as of March 26, 2020

Dear A. W. Beattie Family,

Everyone from the Career Center wishes our families the best during these uncertain times.

The earliest A.W. Beattie Career Center will open for students to return is Tuesday, April 14th.  The details of the current schedule March 30th through April 14th is at the bottom of this document.  Please, remember that this schedule/plan is subject to change.

The staff of the Career Center is preparing to move forward with our continuity of education plan on Monday, March 30th.  This forward movement will consist of moving from the electronic enrichment/engagement review component of instruction that began on Wednesday, March 18th and will continue through Friday, March 27th.

Beginning Monday, March 30th and continuing through Wednesday, April 8th, the Career Center staff will provide planned CTE program area curriculum instruction in a virtual/online format to continue on our instructional pathway for the 2019-2020 school year.  We realize that a key component of the daily hands-on instruction will not always be achievable.  The instructors are working to the best of their ability to fill-in those areas. 

Instructors will provide daily lessons in a variety of formats and will be available for “on-line office hours” to assist all students.  The instructors will be able to provide access to the Learning Facilitators, ESL support, and the School Counselors for any student requiring assistance during the school day. 

Instructors have been working throughout the initial engagement period to establish contacts with students.  Students that still require initial instructor contact please reach out to your instructor through their Career Center email address located on the Beattie website at www.beattietech.com [CONTENT_REVIEW InternalLink] under the directory tab.  Instructors will continue to send emails to students for contact.  Instructors will be explaining to the students that they will be maintaining a daily attendance log to track participation.  We realize there may be situations that hinder participation, and students should share that information directly with their instructor.

• Monday, March 30th through Wednesday, April 8th – Virtual on-line planned CTE instruction
• Thursday, April 9th –No School – Spring Break
• Friday, April 10th –No School – Spring Break (Good Friday)
• Monday, April 13th – Teacher In-Service Day – No School for Students
• Tuesday, April 14th – Students return to school (Subject to Change)
