ACP Senior of the Year plans for Cyber Security career

Congratulations to North Allegheny's Stephen Shaw who was named Senior of the Year in A.W. Beattie's Advanced Computer Programming class!

Stephen will attend CCAC and major in Cyber Security.

"I want to be a cyber security analyst," Stephen said. "(Working with) computers is my hobby as a whole, and I know how people could use computers to disrupt the life of others. So, I want to do something that feels important to the world."

Stephen said he decided to attend the career center, because he felt it would be a good hands-on experience to help him decide if what he was interested in was what he wanted to do in the future.

"My instructor never limited me to specific projects during the school year," Stephen said. "He gave me the freedom to do all kinds of computer-related projects. He also helped me score an internship for the summer, This opportunity really showed me the work environment I should expect to see in the real world."

Good luck, Stephen!
