2021 Pharmacy Senior of the Year to attend CCAC, work as EMT
Congratulations to Mallorie Kaiser who was named the 2021 Senior of the Year in A.W. Beattie’s Introduction to Pharmacy program!
Mallorie will attend CCAC’s 18-month Surgical Technologist program while working as an EMT. She also will become a paramedic!
“I wanted to experience Pharmacy to get a strong background in medications for when I work in the medical field so that I’d have a better understanding of what different medications do and why they are given,” Mallorie said.
She said some of her best teachers have been at Beattie. She was in Beattie’s Emergency Response Technology program in 10th and 11th grade.
“Mr. T in ERT was very helpful in learning how to take care of people and how to make a difference in the community,” Mallorie said. “Miss Gibson is always motivated to help, and we’ve done a lot with learning procedures and how to professionally handle medication, medical math, calculating dosages, filling prescriptions, and compounding chemicals, which was fun to see how everything goes together.”
Mallorie also attended PA Leadership Charter School, is a volunteer firefighter at Undercliff VFC 264 and is completing OTJ training at Shaler Hampton EMS. She is in National Technical Honor Society, SkillsUSA, and she is a member of the BAT team. She also took CCAC’s Biology class, taught by Mr. Thayer.
Good Luck Mallorie!
