2021 Cyber Security Senior of the Year to attend Robert Morris

2021 Cyber Security Senior of the Year to attend Robert Morris

Congratulations to Pine-Richland’s Reese Martin who was named the 2021 Senior of the Year in A.W. Beattie’s Cyber Security program!

Reese began attending Beattie to learn how to build his own PC. In his first attempt, he got each part, put it together, booted it up, and fried every component in the machine.

“That was great,” Reese said laughing. “There was damage. I shocked everything. I had to send everything back, got all new parts, and the next time I built it everything worked.”

Reese enjoyed Network Engineering the most in his second year of the program because he learned how switches and routers transfer data.

“Mr. Ricetti has been one of my favorite teachers,” Reese said. “He makes everything understandable. A lot of what we’re learning is difficult to wrap your brain around. He makes it possible to comprehend challenging topics so that we’re not lost, and we can keep building on what he’s covering in class.”

Reese also interned last summer with A.W. Beattie’s IT Department. He will attend Robert Morris for his bachelor’s and possibly his master’s to work in Cyber Security. He hopes to work for a large company like Google in a position that will enable him to travel or to work for the Department of Homeland Security.

Good Luck Reese!
