2021 Auto Tech Senior of the Year to work at Veteran Auto Services
Congratulations to Avonworth’s Jake Abbott who was named the 2021 Senior of the Year in A.W. Beattie's Automotive Technology program!
Jake enrolled in Auto Tech to learn how to work on his vehicles and said it was difficult to pinpoint his favorite part about the program because he enjoyed the whole experience.
"I never predicted the amount of great people I would meet nor the opportunities that came to me as a result to say the least," Jake said.
He was particularly thankful for his instructors.
"My Instructors were always incredibly helpful in all that I did or planned to do, providing me with great insight all along the way," Jake said. "I would like to think that the relationships that I have built with them will last long past my departure."
Jake was named one of the top Auto Tech students in the state of Pennsylvania alongside Hampton's Austin McLean. The two combined earlier this school year to place fourth in the 2021 Skip Wagner Automotive competition through the Pennsylvania Automotive Association.
Jake has been working in the Auto Tech field for a year already and will work full time at Veteran Automotive Services Inc. upon graduation.
"As for future education plans, I am undecided still on exactly what I may pursue," Jake said. "Although I do plan on always furthering my education and broadening my skillset. This is simply because no matter how much one may think they know, there is always more to learn, and one must never stop doing so to truly succeed.”
Good Luck Jake!
