Title IX
Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972 is a federal civil rights law that states:
No person in the United States shall, on the basis of sex, be excluded from participation in, be denied the benefits of, or be subjected to discrimination under any education program or activity receiving Federal financial assistance.
Title IX is enforced by the U.S. Department of Education’s Office for Civil Rights (OCR) and applies to all aspects of educational programs and activities, including but not limited to:

Sex-based discrimination

Sexual harassment and misconduct

Athletics
-
Employment practices
-
Rights of pregnant and parenting students

Recruitment, admissions, and access to programs
Title IX Coordinator Responsibilities
The Title IX Coordinator oversees the district’s compliance with Title IX regulations. Responsibilities include:

Coordinating staff training and education

Reviewing and updating district policies and procedures

Managing grievance and complaint procedures

Staying informed on current laws and court decisions related to Title IX

Initiating the response process upon receipt of a complaint
How to File a Title IX Complaint
If you believe you have experienced or witnessed a Title IX violation, you may report the incident in one of the following ways:

Report the incident to any school district employee, school principal, or the Title IX Coordinator (contact information below)

Email the Title IX Coordinator directly

Complete and submit the District Title IX Report Form
Important Note:
While third parties may report an incident, only the individual who experienced the alleged conduct may file a formal complaint. Filing a formal complaint triggers the grievance process, which may include a formal investigation and/or an informal resolution process.
