Collinsville Middle School hosted a special Orientation Night on May 14, 2019 to help prepare parents and students for middle school in the 2019-20 school year.
CMS Administration and Faculty hope to make the transition a positive experience:
“The 2019-2020 school year will be a new adventure for your son or daughter. There will be many new expectations and experiences. Our goal at CMS is to ensure success for every student. We can only accomplish this goal by working together.
The start of middle school can be an anxious time for students and their parents. There is excitement at a new beginning, the chance to meet new friends, have more class options and become more independent right alongside the stress of the unknown.
As educators, we understand that parents often wonder how we can best prepare our children to make the transition from elementary to middle school and how to support them during their first year in a new environment. The 7th Grade Orientation Night is a great opportunity for students and families to receive information about CMS, and be familiar about procedures, expectations, and all of the wonderful things our school has to offer.”
Attendees had the opportunity to meet some 7th grade teachers from each department, receive course information from each teacher, tour the building, learn how to access students’ grades through Skyward and ask questions about the middle school.
