August 31, 2022 – The Collinsville Daily News FREE online publication has launched a dedicated section for Collinsville Community Unit School District #10 news, Kahok sports and (coming soon!) student journalist articles.
“Our partnership with the Collinsville Daily News is growing,” said CUSD 10 Public Relations Liaison Kimberly Collins, “Readers can now click on the ‘CUSD 10’ tab on the CDN homepage to directly access district news, as well as articles highlighting Kahok teams and scores. We couldn’t be more excited to have a hometown publication to showcase our district, our staff, our students and our athletes. By dedicating their resources to closely cover Kahok Nation, they truly demonstrate their commitment to be the ‘The Heartbeat of the Community'”
Collinsville Daily News debuted in February of this year. From the beginning, publisher Jacqueline Duty expressed a desire to provide the “old fashioned, hometown coverage” of Kahok Nation that had been lacking in the Collinsville community since the Collinsville Herald ceased operation.
CDN is FREE and easily accessed at www.collinsvilledailynews.com. Readers who wish to make a donation to support local journalism can click a button in the upper right corner of their homepage (use this link). Local businesses can support the endeavor by investing their promotional dollars in advertising with CDN.
Through September 2022, CDN has committed to donate 50% of proceeds from a special advertising offer to KAHOKstrong. (Click HERE for details).
Collinsville Daily News produces exclusive content that can only be found on their platform, examples include: features on CUSD 10 21-22 retirees, profiles of CHS students of the month and in-depth coverage of Kahok Athletics. District staff and clubs can submit information and events to the CDN calendar. The new CUSD 10 tab provides direct access to the latest Kahok news and information.
CDN will soon inaugurate “Perspectives” – a new initiative featuring articles written by student journalists. Watch for the announcement.
In addition to local announcements, obituaries, news, business features and community interest stories, Collinsville Daily News also includes Latinidad: Spanish-translated content and stories of special interest to our community’s Spanish-speaking families.
