I started in special education at Davenport A+School in 1993. In 1995, I was given the opportunity to work in Physical Education. I loved it!!! I worked at Davenport School until 2006. I then moved to Valmead to teach Physical Education. During my time at Valmead, I started at Caldwell Community College in pursuit of an Assosciates Degree. I graduated from CCC&TI in 2010 and transfered to Appalachian State University where I was enrolled in the Physical Education program from 2010 until I graduated in December of 2012. I completed my student teaching under a wonderful friend and mentor Ann Matthews at West Lenoir. I was hired to be the PE teacher here at West Lenoir in March of 2014. My husband is J.D. Abee and we have been married for 23 years. We love our dogs Diva And BeBe, they are our furry children. I love running in competitve races. I have participated in the Warrior Dash which is held in Huntersvile NC every year since 2011 and I have participated in a Spartan Super Race in 2015 that is held in Asheville NC. I also love hiking and enjoying nature.
