Dr. Lesa Widener

About Me: Dr. Lesa Widener is one of our k-5 Literacy Interventionists, and she joins us on Wednesdays to work without k-5 students. Also, she is a retired administrator with Caldwell County Schools. She served in the following roles during her educational career: elementary school teacher, curriculum coach, assistant principal, Title I districtwide instructional facilitator, and Title I Director, which became Federal Programs Director, along with a dual directorship as Elementary Director. During her 36 years of service with CCS, her passion was always centered around teaching students to learn to read and to love reading. She believes all students can learn and is excited to be a part of helping students with early literacy at Kings Creek School.

Ms. Jamie Ingle

About me: Ms. Ingles is one of our two k-5 Literacy Interventionist. She joins us on Wednesdays to work with our students. Her formal education includes a Bachelor of Arts degree in Spanish and Secondary Education from Carson Newman University.  I received a Master of Arts degree in Educational Administration from Gardner-Webb University.  I currently maintain my licensure as a National Board Certified Teacher in English as a New Language and hold national certifications in Sheltered Instruction Observation Protocol and Ruby Paynes’s Framework of Poverty among other educational training received over a period of 43 years as a teacher in Tennessee, Texas and North Carolina.

Ms. Shana King

Ms. King is our school's Math Interventionist. She comes and works with our students 3rd through 8th grade. She is at Kings Creek on Thursdays to work with our 6th through 8th grade students, and she joins us on Fridays to work with students in 3rd through 5th grade. 

About me: My name is Shana King.  I am an alumnus of South Caldwell High School.  I received my undergraduate degree in Secondary Mathematics Education from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte and my masters in Secondary Mathematics Education from Appalachian State University.  I taught one year at Liberty Middle School in Burke County, 18 years at West Caldwell High School and 10 years at South Caldwell High School. I have taught a variety of math classes from 7th grade math up to precalculus.  I retired from Caldwell County Schools in 2022.  I have been married to my husband, Todd, for 30 years. Todd works for Catawba Valley Medical Group.  I have two children, Amelia, a registered nurse at Grace Hospital, and Macie, a data analyst at Caldwell Community College.  As a family, we would love to travel and go on new adventures.  I am very excited about working with your children this spring.
