I started teaching at Davenport in 2006. My art and children's theater background made Davenport the perfect school for me. I have a long history of working with children. Prior to getting my teaching degree, I worked 13 years with children at a daycare where I was in charge of their before/after-school care program. My husband and I met in art college. We've been together for over 40 years. We have two grown boys who live too far away for my liking. I grew up in Northern Virginia (near Washing D.C.). I much prefer living in beautiful Lenoir and the mountain region. Hiking the trails is one of my favorite pastimes.
