Welcome back for another exciting year of learning at W.M. Irvin Elementary!  I am entering my 18th year of teaching, and my 1st year at Irvin as the MTSS Coach.  Prior to teaching at Irvin, I taught 2nd grade at Odell Primary for 8 years, I spent 7 years in Kannapolis, and 2 years in Tampa, Florida. I received my Bachelors degree in Early Childhood Education (preK-6) with a reading endorsement from Youngstown State University. I also have my AIG (Academically and Intellectually Gifted) local endorsement.  I am in my second year of graduate school at Queens University of Charlotte, where I am working towards my degree in Educational Leadership.

    I believe whole-heartedly that every child deserves a high quality education and I hold high standards for ALL of my students. I focus on social-emotional health, critical thinking skills, and having a growth mindset.  I promise that when your child is with me at school, they will be challenged, cared for, and loved!

     I currently live in Concord with my husband Mike, and two children, Sophia (12) and Cooper (9). We also have two dogs, Desi and Jett, and 3 lizards!

•I grew up in Youngstown, Ohio, which is located in North-Eastern Ohio.

•I am beginning my 18th year in education.

•I am a HUGE fan of THE Ohio State Buckeyes..go BUCKEYES! 

•I love to read and go to the beach.

•I used to race go karts professionally when I was younger, which is how I met my husband.  We raced against other drivers such as Danica Patrick and Sam Hornish Jr.
