Mr. Richter
Greetings 5th graders and thank you for checking out my new webpage. I am excited to be your teacher. This will be my 21st year teaching at Wolf Meadow. I also have exciting news that I am your ELA teacher! We will learn a lot and in doing so we will become great readers and writers. With effort and hard work, this will be your best year EVER!
Just a little about myself: I am 44 years old. I grew up in Winston-Salem, moved to Asheville, then to Charlotte. Now I find myself living in Concord, NC. I always enjoyed school as a kid and, with hard work and dedication, I went to college. I minored in meteorology at UNC-Asheville and I earned my teaching degree at Western Carolina.
As a child, especially when I was a 5th grader...I love the Transformers. I played baseball for 10 years and was an All-Star from ages 12 to 18. I also was and still am a huge Cubs fan. I also like the Charlotte Hornets, Chicago Bears, Carolina Panthers and Duke Blue Devils. I LOVE SPORTS!
I am a big kid at heart, especially when it comes to my interests. I love to play PS5 (sports games) and I still like some cartoons. My favorite show of all time however is the old 1960's Twilight Zones. They are great for teaching THEME, SETTING, PLOT, MATH, AND SCIENCE! and any COMMON CORE STANDARD:)
I have a great family; a dog named Snorty and an adorable 11-year-old girl named Tinsleigh. I have a great class mascot named Handy that will help us out throughout the year...if we can HANDle him.
