My name is Lindsay Maddux, and I am thrilled to be teaching 1st grade as a part of the HRES Cowboy family!  This is my ninth year in first grade! I was born in Charleston, West Virginia and have been in Charlotte since kindergarten.  I received my teaching degree at Appalachian State University (Go Mountaineers) and received my Master's Degree from UNC Charlotte in Reading Education K-12!  I received my National Boards Certification for Teaching in 2020.  I will be getting married this November and will become Mrs. Young!  I have two dogs who take up a lot of my time and energy outside of teaching.  Kinley is a morkie (maltese & yorkie mix) and is eight years old and Reese is a yorkie poo (yorkie & poodle mix) and is seven years old.  I have previously taught first grade for Charlotte Mecklenburg Schools and have also worked as a Human Resources Director for a local lifeguarding company for several years.  I cannot wait to start watching my students grow and have fun in first grade this year!
