Welcome to the start of the 2022-2023 school year.

 I am so happy you are here and  I am so excited to have your child in my class!   I look forward to talking with you and getting to know you and your child. I know that we will have a successful school year by working together.  I am looking forward to working as a team with my students and my parents to make this the BEST YEAR YET!   

 A little bit about me:    My name is Tonda Edwards and I am THRILLED to be YOUR child's 2nd grade teacher this year!    This will be my fifth year teaching 2nd grade at Winecoff Elementary School.   Before I was a classroom teacher, I worked as a reading/math interventionist at Wolf Meadow for 7 years.  I was born and raised in Concord and I am a product of the Cabarrus County School System. I graduated from Central Cabarrus High School and I am very proud to be teaching in the county where I went to school. I also graduated from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte with a degree in Elementary Education. I live in Concord with my husband and my two sweet and crazy dogs, Bella and Torre. I also have two children, my daughter, Brittany  and my son, Joshua. In fact, my daughter is also a teacher. My son is a civil engineer in Charlotte. When I am not at school,  I enjoy traveling, reading, and spending time with my wonderful family.        I am looking forward to being a part of your journey in 2nd grade and having an amazing year with you and your child!
