Mrs. Catherine Stuart

Hello!  

I am Catherine Stuart, and I teach third grade at Odell Elementary.  This is my seventeenth year teaching, and my fifth year teaching for Cabarrus County Schools. I have a BA in English from Kennesaw State University, and a graduate degree from UNCC.  I have taught in both charter schools and public schools, mostly third or fourth grade.   I feel so fortunate to be working at Odell Elementary, with the rock-star educators that teach here!

I actually live in South Carolina with my husband Dave, but enjoy being here so much that it is worth the commute.  I am an "empty-nester" with three grown children, two beautiful grandchildren, and one more on the way!   In my spare time I like to read, cook, and garden.  My husband and I both enjoy traveling, and look forward to the day when we can travel more freely!

Working with children is just one of the things about which I am passionate.  From April to October, I serve as a volunteer for the CMPD Animal Control Center in their neonatal kitten nursery.  I also foster baby kittens until they are old enough to go to a home of their own, and often work with sick kittens that need extra care.
