What is the Academy of Hospitality and Tourism?

  • The Academy of Hospitality and Tourism changed locations during the 2021-22 school year.  We are phasing out AOHT at Hickory Ridge High School and have begin the program at it's new home of Concord High School!

The Academy of Hospitality and Tourism is for any student that enjoys an exciting and hands on learning environment in the fields of marketing, and culinary arts.  We use project based learning to help students understand main concepts in these fields as well as site visits, guest speakers, and internships. Students will gain skills that will prepare them for a career in a hospitality, marketing, or the culinary arts field.

Academy programming allows students to take traditional high school courses with the addition of approximately one class per semester in the chosen career pathway. Students in our academy programs are still eligible for Advanced Placement (AP) and Career and College Promise (CCP) coursework, as well as athletics, extracurriculars and fine arts programming. Students in the program at Concord High also have the ability to participate in our IB Career Programme (CP), offering the rigorous academic program and well-rounded student development of the IB program alongside their career-oriented coursework.
