• Behavior Expectations

    Behavior is proactive in our classroom! We will be working on making good choices each day and to follow the Coltrane Cougar traits of being respectful, responsible and safe. Good behavior is vital to the academic growth of each child in our class and positive behavior will be rewarded! 
     
    Our school will be using a web-based program called Class Dojo to help track student behavior. It is an excellent communication tool to help keep parents updated about their child's behavior.
     
    Each day, your child will be awarded points for great behavior such as being on-task, following directions, helping others, etc. Students can also lose points for negative behaviors such as being off-task, not following directions, etc. Students love being able to track their points and will be given the opportunity to use their points for special classroom rewards!
     
    Once you have joined our class, you will be able to check your child's progress anytime. Please talk with your child about their choices and praise them for good behavior. Should your child have a tough day (and it’s okay when that happens), please talk with them about their choices and help them with strategies for making tomorrow better.
