Jake Hemminger

Hello! My name is Jake Hemminger and I am a speech-language pathologist at the Mary Frances Wall Center and at Patriots STEM Elementary. I am entering my second year working for Cabarrus County Schools and I am looking forward to an amazing year!

My educational and professional background is primarily in the performing arts. I hold a Bachelor of Arts in Music Technology, a Master of Music in Vocal Performance and Pedagogy, and a Master of Science in Speech, Language, and Learning. My professional background is primarily as a voice instructor at the university level (Queens University of Charlotte and Averett University) as well as in community music schools (Music Academy of North Carolina, Stagelights Theatre, and Montgomery School of Music).

My areas of interest include voice disorders and singing voice rehabilitation, as well as pediatric articulation and language disorders. I have presented research projects related to vocal health (The Teacher's Voice) and related to the impact and use of music in speech therapy (Music & Lyrics). In my work, I develop original songs aimed at enriching overall language development by targeting vocabulary acquisition and concept comprehension.

Do not hesitate to contact me via email at jake.hemminger@cabarrus.k12.nc.us to learn more about my work as a speech-language pathologist.
