Welcome Families!

I am thrilled to be back at Coltrane-Webb STEM Elementary School for a sixth year, and my 12th year teaching overall! This year will be my fourth with the amazing second grade team. I love the STEM model of teaching. It allows for creativity and hands-on experiences, which are interesting and motivating for teachers and students alike. 

I live in downtown Davidson. Yes, it is a long drive to school, but it is worth it! My husband Matt and I have been married for 26 years and have 2 sons. Nathan, 24, is a third year law student at Emory University, and a graduate of the Honors College at the University of South Carolina. Ben, 21, is a senior Gamecock at South Carolina. My husband and I will be "empty nesters" for a fourth year. I also have an adorable but crazy Jack Russell Terrier called Maisie. Some of my hobbies are reading (especially British crime fiction), cooking, and walking- Davidson has wonderful walking trails. We like to attend sporting events. Gamecock football games are a favorite, as well as Steelers football and Penguins hockey games when we are visiting my husband's family in Pittsburgh. Another favorite are Gator games when we visit my brother in Florida. We also enjoy watching our son Ben sing and act in theatre, and watching our son Nathan compete in ultimate frisbee.

This year I'm excited to be working together with a great team, and to be planning many exciting integrated and hands-on learning experiences for your child.
