My name is Slajounya Gates, and I am your child's math teacher.  This is my 20th year teaching with Biloxi Public School District.  Over the years, I have taught 3rd grade for fifteen years and 2nd grade for one year.

 

I earned my B.S. and M.Ed Degrees in Elementary Education from William Carey University, and I am also a National Board Certified Teacher in K-8.  Math is my favorite subject to teach, and I am so excited to be teaching it again this year!

 

On a personal note, I am the proud mother of one daughter who earned a degree in Food & Nutritional Science from Tuskegee University, and a kitten that my students named King. 

 

It is my goal to work to ensure the success of your child in my class, and to accomplish this goal, we will need to work together.  If you ever have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact me via email, the school, or a note in your child's planner, and I will get back to you as soon as I can. I have listed the standards that I will be teaching this year in all subjects.  Please use the information to familiarize yourself with what your child will be taught.
