Mrs. Shirrell Hinton

As we come back from summer break, I would like to take this opportunity to introduce myself. I am Shirrell Hinton, Inclusion teacher and SPED Chair at Gorenflo Elementary! I am from Pinola, MS. I attended Jackson State University and received my bachelor's degree in Special Education. I furthered my education at William Carey University and received my Psychometric endorsement, Master's, and Specialist degrees.

I am happily married to my fantastic husband, and we have three blessings in human form. We enjoy traveling, cooking, and spending quality time with family.

Entering my seventh year as a proud educator in the Biloxi Indian Nation, I am pleased to work with amazing colleagues and children! I am passionate about creating a safe and inclusive learning environment. I make learning fun and strive to help my students reach their peak potential daily. I love encouraging my students to learn. I can't wait to fill the year with books, conversations, and laughter. I am looking forward to a great year!
