Babylon School District participates in a Regional Summer School program facilitated by Western Suffolk BOCES for the purposes of credit recovery. The program is open to students currently in grades 7-12.
- Program Dates: Tuesday, July 12 – Friday, August 12, 2022.
- Length: Monday – Friday, 3 periods per day (7:45 am – 1:32pm)
- Location: In-person classes run at locations listed in the student brochure.
- Courses: English 7-12, Science 7-12 (Biology-Living Environment/Earth Science/Chemistry), Math 7-12 (Algebra I/Algebra II/Geometry), Social Studies 7-12 (Global II/US History & US Transitional/Government & Economics), ESL-Global II/Algebra/Bio-LE), Senior Seminar, Health & Physical Education, Spanish I & II
- Special Education & ESL Teachers will be provided as necessary

Extended Year Program

Babylon School District is pleased to be able to offer students with significant academic needs the opportunity to participate in an Extended Year Program. This program targets students with educational classifications and/or high intensity needs who require a 12-month educational program and/or demonstrate significant regression over school breaks. This program is operated under the auspices of the Office of Special Education. The special class program operates Monday through Friday from 8 am until 10:30 am at Babylon Memorial Grade School. Classes will include a special class k-2, an 8:1:1 class at the elementary level and an 8:1:1 class at the secondary level. Small group targeted intervention in the areas of Reading, Math and Speech will also be offered to qualified students. Babylon UFSD Summer Music Program

Babylon school district will once again offer a summer instrumental music program. This fantastic program is available to three sets of music students at Babylon Memorial GS: both beginning and returning band students, as well as returning string students. String and band students entering 4th, 5th, and 6th grade will be eligible to participate in the summer program. The program will run from Tuesday, July 5th – Thursday August 4th and will be held Monday through Thursday at Babylon High School. Detailed program information was sent home in June to registered students.
Lesson times are as follows and will last approximately 35 minutes.
9am: beginning flute/trumpet/incoming 4th grade string students (except bass)
9:45am: beginning clarinet/trombone/baritone horn/tuba students/ incoming 5th grade string students
10:30am: beginning alto saxophone/percussion students/ incoming 6th grade string students
11:15am: incoming 5th and 6th grade band students (must have played their instrument for at least one year)/incoming 4th grade bass students
There will be a brief concert held during each time slot on Thursday, August 4th.
SCOPE Summer Enrichment Program

Through a partnership with SCOPE Education Services, Babylon UFSD is offering a Summer Enrichment program housed at Babylon Elementary School this summer. Program sessions run from July 5 through July 29, 2022, between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 12:00 p.m. The SCOPE Summer Enrichment Brochure can be found here: SCOPE Enrichment 2022. We are excited to offer ELA and Math skill building programs free of charge to interested families.
All registration materials and fees are organized directly through the SCOPE office as directed on the brochure. Please note that the course offerings will run contingent upon the number of registrations received. It is our hope that this year’s summer enrichment program offers Babylon families attractive options for their children to remain creative, active learners throughout the month of July.

Each year, the Babylon Public Library encourages ongoing reading engagement for kids and teens. We encourage all Babylon UFSD students to sign up for a library card and take advantage of the many summer programs offered through the Village’s public library.
