Alabama School of Cyber Technology and Engineering

Mr. Maddox is a north Alabama native who has been in education for over 20 years.  He has taught pre-AP Physics, AP Physics C Mechanics, AP Physics C Electricity and Magnetism, as well as several other Math, Chemistry, Biology, Engineering, and Computer Science courses.  He is a two-time top-ten finalist for national teacher of the year and is the founder of the Sparkman Engineering Academy.  

Mr. Maddox earned a bachelor’s degree in Physics and Mathematics from Auburn and has finished extensive graduate-level work in these subjects as well as Chemical Engineering.  He has also completed a Master of Divinity degree from the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary and has accumulated hours of Doctoral work.

Mr. Maddox has experience writing Physics and Engineering curriculum as well as consulting for the Alliance for Physics Excellence, Alabama Department of Education, and A-plus College Ready.  He has most recently served as a Physics Specialist for the University of Alabama in Huntsville.  He is married to Dr. Kecia D. Maddox Au.D. and has two sons who are both pursuing degrees at the University of Alabama in Huntsville.
