  • Oakwood/ASCTE Agreement Announced - November 1, 2019

    Matt Massey, president of the Alabama School of Cyber Technology and Engineering(ASCTE), announced today that the school will open on the campus of Oakwood University in Huntsville, AL in August 2020 while the permanent facility is constructed in Cummings Research Park. The location of the new Cyber and Engineering School, which will open in 2022, will be at the intersection of Bradford Drive and Wynn Drive across from Redstone Federal Credit Union

    In her annual State of the State address, Alabama Governor Kay Ivey announced the creation of the Alabama School of Cyber Technology and Education. Governor Ivey is passionate about education and has launched the Strong Start, Strong Finish (SSSF) education initiative that focuses on education, computer science, and workforce development. The mission of ASCTE supports these three critical areas. "This school will prepare some of our state's highest achieving students to enter the growing fields of cyber technology and engineering,” Ivey said. “Just as Huntsville has always been on the leading edge of the rocket and aerospace industries, the Alabama School of Cyber Technology and Engineering will ensure that Alabama students are at the forefront of today’s emerging technologies."
