The South Colonie Central School District announced earlier this month the appointment of Henry Rosenzweig as the Community Engagement & Safety Coordinator for the district.  Rosenzweig is a ’94 Colonie Central High School graduate with a longstanding demonstrated commitment to the local community having worked with New York State Office of Children and Family Services and most recently through his service with the Colonie Police Department.

I look forward to working with the South Colonie community,” said Rosenzweig. “ My hope is that my combined experience working with families and children, in law enforcement and as a volunteer coach provide me with the tools to effect positive change in the lives of South Colonie students.”

In this newly created role, Rosenzweig will facilitate partnerships between the schools and families, district leadership and the community at large, and will work to implement safety protocols across district buildings.

“We are excited to welcome Henry to the district in this capacity,” said Dr. David Perry, superintendent of schools. “This position will really be focused on supporting administrators, counselors, social workers, and teachers in improving student engagement.  With his history working in the Colonie community and his extensive knowledge of the district, I believe he will be a really great asset to our team in this capacity.”

Rosenzweig supported South Colonie as a member of its district reopening committee in 2020 and 2021.  He also served as a member of the district wide safety committee.

Rosenzweig started with the district in his new role this week.
