South Colonie set to expand ENL programming for 2023-24 school year

South Colonie Central School District has continuously made strides to optimally provide English as a New Language (ENL) support as the population of our English Language Learners has grown throughout the years.

In maintaining this vision and preparing for the 2023-24 school year, it is with great excitement to announce pending voter approval, South Colonie is preparing to expand our ENL programs to all schools across the district.

Beginning in September,  Lisha Kill Middle School,  Veeder and Roessleville Elementary Schools will be staffed with ENL teachers to support our English Language Learners.

Due to capacity challenges, some Roessleville ELLstudents will need to continue to attend Shaker Road or Forest Park Elementary, depending on their proximity to those schools.

Parents and students will be receiving letters identifying which schools they will attend in the fall.

For further questions, parents are welcome to call William Boardman, Supervisor of Special Programs at 518-869-6759.
