Middle School Students Compete and Win at KidWind Competition

Sand Creek and Lisha Kill middle school STEM students participated at the KidWind competition held at General Electric Co. Wind Energy Labs in Schenectady. STEM teachers James Brown and Courtney Hynes worked with Div Pramanick, Ryan Seestadt, Dylan Morehouse, Stephen Pham, Amelia Hinckley, Ella Dannehy, Tessa Pekrol, Bonnie Warren and Neesa Osman as they researched wind energy. Students designed, built and tested model wind turbines that were producing impressive amounts of voltage. The Sand Creek’s team won first place in the middle school division, and is invited to the national KidWind competition in Chicago.
