Lisha Kill Middle School held its grade 5-6 CAI Pi Day Challenge this year. Mrs. Peplowski and Mrs. Theriault had 42 students challenge themselves to memorize as many digits of PI as they could and recite them before their classmates and judges.
It was another record breaking year. Fifth grader Ian Zehnder broke last year’s record of 224 with an amazing 301 digits recited. Sixth grader Grace Conley beat her own record with 218 digits recited.
Second and third place sixth grader winners were Daniel Mann with 111 digits and Nosa Omorogbe with 89 digits.
Second and third place fifth grader winners were Marina Warzocha with 88 digits and Hailee Smith with 83 digits.
Honorable mention went to sixth graders Aiden Cleary with 74 digits and Alexa Taleporous with 62 digits.
Thank you to all participants who challenged themselves. Will the record be broken again next year? See you Pi Day 2019.
