In an exciting development for the Colonie High School basketball program, the school announced the appointment of Greg Davis as the new head varsity coach for boys basketball for 2023-24 season. Davis, a seasoned and accomplished coach, brings a wealth of experience and a passion for the game to Colonie.
Having previously coached varsity basketball at both LaSalle and Troy High, Davis has an impressive track record of success.
Athletic Director Bill Roemer expressed his excitement stating, “We are thrilled to welcome Coach Greg Davis back to Colonie in this capacity,” he said. “His experience, leadership and commitment to developing student-athletes align perfectly with our school’s values and athletic program’s philosophies. We have every confidence that under his guidance, our basketball team will thrive and reach new heights, on and off the court.”
Davis will replace Ken Dagostino who announced his resignation earlier this spring.
The basketball program at Colonie Central High School has a strong legacy, and Coach Davis is eager to build upon its foundation of success. He envisions fostering a culture of hard work, discipline, and sportsmanship emphasizing the importance of both individual skill development and cohesive team dynamics.
