In response to feedback collected through the Class of 2021 Survey and recommendations provided by the Colonie Central High School (CCHS) Graduation task force, the South Colonie Board of Education announced today, graduation plans for the class of 2021.
The ceremony will take place at the Times Union Center on Thursday, June 24 at 1 p.m.
“We are thrilled to be able to offer our graduates that special moment with their friends and family members to celebrate all they have accomplished,” said Dr. David Perry, superintendent of schools. “We understand everything that our students and families have been through and we heard their feedback loud and clear that they wanted the opportunity to celebrate together. For families who are unable to attend for various reasons, we will be providing a live stream option so that everyone can feel like they are part of this important milestone.”
Based on the current guidelines (as of 5/18) each graduate will be able to bring five guests to the ceremony. Additional information will be forthcoming regarding testing and/or vaccination requirements. As always, the district will continue to monitor the latest guidance from the Governor and the NYS Department of Health and adjust capacity restrictions as needed.
