Board of Education members Gizzi and Cogan honored for NYSSBA achievements

The South Colonie Superintendent of Schools Dr. David Perry and Board of Education members recognized board member Colleen Gizzi and board Vice President Stephanie Cogan during its regularly scheduled meeting on Monday, Oct 3. Both Gizzi and Cogan recently received awards from the New York State School Boards Association (NYSSBA) for their individual commitments of expanding their knowledge and skills for better board governance.

“NYSSBA’s recognition program acknowledges the extensive time and effort required of school board members who continually strive to expand their skills, “ said Superintendent of Schools Dr. David Perry. “We are so thankful to both Colleen and Stephanie  for their  dedication and hard work for South Colonie Schools as members of our Board of Education.” 

NYSSBA members can earn credits for participating in NYSSBA training opportunities, including the Annual Convention and regional workshops.

Colleen Gizzi received the NYSSBA Board Achievement Award for earning 75 credits for participating in NYSSBA training opportunities.

Board Vice President Stephanie Cogan received the NYSSBA Board of Excellence Award for earning 150 credits for participating in NYSSBA training and leadership development opportunities.
