Budget Vote and BOE Election Results 2016

    Proposition 1: The School Budget

    To adopt the annual budget of the Southampton Union Free School District for the fiscal year 2016-2017 in the proposed amount of $67,731,464 and to authorize the requisite portion thereof to be raised by taxation on the taxable property of the District.

    Proposition 2: Trustee Election

    To elect two (2) members of the Board of Education for four (4) year terms commencing July 1, 2016, and expiring on June 30, 2020, to succeed Nicholas Palumbo and Jake Wilson, whose terms expire on June 30, 2016.

    Proposition 3: Appropriate and Expend Funds from "Southampton Property Acquisition and Facility Construction Capital Reserve Fund"

    Shall the Board of Education of the Southampton Union Free School District be authorized to expend up to $7,750,000.00 from the District's existing capital reserve fund known as the "Southampton Property Acquisition and Facility Construction Capital Reserve Fund" (as established by the vote of the qualified voters of the District on May 19, 2009) for the acquisition and renovation of the Real Property located at 300 and 310 Hampton Road, Southampton, New York, and with the result that such expenditure from the "Southampton Property Acquisition and Facility Construction Capital Reserve Fund": shall have no impact on the tax levy of the District for the 2016-2017 school year. NOTE: The approval of Proposition 3 will not have an impact on the tax levy for 2016/17.

    Other Propositions:

    The following organizations function independently from the school district under their own Boards of Directors, which establish their budgets. While they appear on the school district ballot, there is NO statutory connection between the school district and any of these entities. 
     

    Proposition 4: Southampton Youth Association

    To adopt a resolution that the Board of Education of the District be authorized to contract with the Southampton Youth Association in the amount of $400,311.00 for the 2016-2017 school year for a recreation program for the youth of the School District, subject to the approval of the New York State Division of Youth, and the necessary tax be levied therefore.

    Proposition 5: Southampton Historical Museum

    To adopt a resolution that the Board of Education be authorized to contract for services with the Southampton Historical Museum in the amount of $170,000.00 for the 2016-2017 school year and the necessary tax be levied therefore.
