PCR-I Welcomes Mrs. Cassie Cowles!
Help us give a warm Putnam County welcome to Mrs. Cassie Whitlock Cowles (pronounced coals like goals), our new addition to Agriculture Education!
Cassie is a 2001 graduate of Kirksville High School.
After graduating from KHS, she earned her Bachelor of Science in Agricultural Education from Northwest Missouri State University.
She then earned her Masters in Administration from William Woods University. This will be Mrs. Cowles' 16th year of teaching.
Fun fact: Cassie was a student-teacher at PCHS under the direction of Mr. Morris and Mr. Bondy in 2007.
Cassie is married to Kevin Cowles. Their daughter Emma Whitlock (will be a junior at Putnam this year), and their daughter Kylie Cowles (will be a sophomore at Mercer this year).
The Cowles fam runs a family farm of commercial cattle and Boer goats.
Cassie loves teaching ag and being an FFA Advisor. She has helped students achieve their goal of becoming State and Area FFA Officers. She has set them up for success in state and national judging teams and public speaking. Mrs. Cowles has also helped National agriscience fair participants, helped students earn state and national proficiencies, and helped students achieve their goal of earning their State and American degrees for FFA.
Cassie tells us, "As a family, our passion is raising and showing livestock, especially cattle, hogs, and goats. In my very limited free time, I enjoy reading, cooking, and gardening. I am an avid sports fan with basketball being my absolute favorite.
My favorite part of teaching is watching a student who has struggled, put in the work, and attain greatness."
Welcome to PC, Mrs. Cowles and family!
