Welcome Back to School!
Welcome to PCR-I Elementary Special Education!
Hello and welcome back to school! I am hoping these first couple of weeks transitioning back to normal routines after a long break have been seamless for you and your family!
I believe an introduction is in order as I am new to the school district. My name is Josie Hinkle and I am the new Elementary Special Education teacher. I have previously worked at Newtown-Harris R-III as a paraprofessional for one year and then shifted into the Elementary Special Education position. I thoroughly enjoyed my time as a Newtown-Harris Tiger, but knew it was time for me to come back home as a Putnam County Midget!
I attended Putnam County R-I all through my school career and graduated in 2015. After high school, I attended North Central Missouri College where I received my Associate of Arts in Teaching in December 2016. In December of 2018, I graduated from Central Methodist University with my Bachelor in Science in Elementary and Special Education.
In 2017, I married my high school sweetheart, Joel, who is a 2012 graduate of Putnam County. In January of this year, we welcomed our first baby boy, Trik Sutton Hinkle. He is the light of our lives and has sure made our hearts overflow with love and happiness!
While I knew that parents would go to the ends of the earth for their children prior to becoming a parent myself, having Trik solidified that piece of information. Please know that if your child walks through my classroom door, I will love and care for them the way that I do my own child. I will advocate for them and always have their best interests at heart. In the three short years that I have been working in school, I have learned that if you love the child first, the rest will follow.
I hope this short article has given you a snapshot of who I am and how I plan to care for and teach my students. I am excited to work with the students of Putnam County and get to know them as the year goes on! If you ever find yourself needing to get a hold of me throughout the year, please feel free to call me at school, ext. 341 or email me at jhinkle@putnamcountyr1.net.
