Mrs. Donna Altiser is our Elementary Principal at Putnam County R-I. She grew up on a farm in Warsaw, Illinois. Her dad is a farmer and her late mother was an elementary teacher for 32 years. Donna graduated from Warsaw High School and attended Mac Murray College in Jacksonville, Illinois where she earned a degree in Deaf Studies: Teacher Education. Mrs. Alstiser graduated from Mac Murray in May of 1998 and began her career here at Putnam County R-I schools in August of 1998. Donna taught Deaf and hard of hearing students here for 10 years. She then served as the Special Education Director for three years. Mrs. Altiser is in her eighth year as the elementary principal. Donna earned both her Masters Degree and Education Specialist Degree from William Woods University. She loves this school and this community and is very thankful that she and her family call Putnam County home. Donna and her husband Kris have one daughter, Hadley, who attends Putnam County Elementary.
