We Love Comparing!
I am excited to experience some warmer temperatures! We have been busy at school developing our speech and language skills. I enjoy working in themes, so in February we used Valentine’s Day for inspiration. Young children are learning about shapes, letters, and numbers, and older children are working on spelling words and formulating sentences. For the younger kids, we talked about curves and points. Curves and points are found in hearts and in our letters and numbers. For the older kids, we used Valentine’s Day vocabulary to make sentences. We also explored the differences between sounds, words, and sentences. Comparing what we see and hear are great ways to stimulate problem-solving skills and learning. Please use this month’s activities to help your child compare, and watch them learn. Hope you enjoyed your Valentine’s Day. I know we did. J
