Pickwick Kicks off New Year

Approximately 50 teachers and associates started their day on Wednesday with a celebration.

Michaela O'Connell, principal, with the help of Ashley Brink, Child Development Assistant Director, hosted an all staff meeting to kick off the new year "the Pickwick way." There was cake, ice cream, balloons, and a ceremony. The ceremony recognized the collaboration of the Ottumwa Community School District and Sieda Head Start. The result of this work is a preschool that will serve the needs of all three- and four-year-old children in Ottumwa.

What does this all mean? According to O'Connell, staff will "merge into a powerful combination with a mission to excel at providing the education, care, and love that all of our students, families, and team members deserve." All staff are now part of Team Pickwick.
