More than a dozen chicks have recently hatched in Deb Buckingham's preschool classroom. Students have been watching the incubator and counting down the days to hatching. Students from all classrooms are observing the chicks as they eat, drink, peck, and sleep. Buckingham's students are also journaling about the chicks as part of the experience. Several students announced that they have a chick picked out to take home! That might be news to their unsuspecting parents. The chicks will remain in the classroom for about two weeks. This is an annual project in Buckingham's class.
