"It is easier to build strong children than repair boken men"- Frederick Douglass. This is a quote that I whole-heartedly believe in and have dedicated my twenty-three year career in education to ensure this statement is fulfilled. I am originally from Hertford County where I started my teaching career in 1997. I taught in Hertford County for fifteen years before making the hard decision of transferring to Halifax County Schools. During my tenure at Halifax County Schools I served as a teacher and Instructional Coach for four years. Upon leaving Halifax County Schools, I joined Northampton County Schools as the Reading Specialist at Willis Hare Elementary. I served in that capacity for one year and then transitioned to the position of Instructional Coach and NC State Wolfpacks Work's Reading Interventionist. I thoroughly enjoy working with the students, staff and parents at WHES. I currently reside in Rich Square, NC and have a seven year old daughter. My hobbies include reading, bowling, trying new recipes, going to plays and movies and spending quality time with my daughter.
