Math 7/8 Compressed Rocks!

Welcome to 7^th grade.  This year-long course will include the entire 7^th grade Common Core State Standards (CCSS) and half of the 8^th grade standards.  This will prepare students to then complete the second half of the 8^th grade standards and all of the high school Algebra I standards next year.  It is my intent to follow a flipped classroom model for the 2014-2015 school year.  This means that students will frontload their learning through videos, webcasts, blogs, and online formative assessments.  Then we will complete the tasks and practice problems together in class.  The idea is to streamline the learning and make better use of time.  The at-home portion should take less than 15 minutes to complete.  I will interject additional materials during class time as needed.  Please note that if I do not see this model working to expectations, I reserve the right to go back to the same old way of teaching.  I am confident that this will not be the case and all students will achieve great success and have deeper a understanding of the concepts.
