Thanks for visiting my webpage. This is my fifth year at ACES. I love teaching in the small-school environment, as it gives us more one-on-one time with our students and staff. I previously taught a variety of English classes -- from AP English to creative writing at Mariner (16 years), Bigfork High School (6 years), Phoenix Alternative School (2 years), and Vintage High School (3 years). In my spare time I work in my garden, try new recipes, play the harp/guitar, find new places to hike/walk, cook for friends, or just sit in a comfy chair and get lost in a good book. I grew up in Phoenix, Arizona but have lived in San Francisco, Napa, Bigfork, and now Everett.
My goal as a teacher is to help students learn the skills they need to graduate, while encouraging them to see how these skills will benefit them AFTER high school. My main concern is the well-being of our students and families, and I believe continuing our education is a healthy way for us to move forward during these challenging times.
