Born in North County San Diego, off to college at the University of California Santa Cruz, graduate studies at San Francisco State University, then to Marin County, I just kept heading north.  However, since landing in Marin, I have been here for quite sometime.  In fact, I began teaching here at Mill Valley Middle School in 1998.  That's right, more than two decades - kind of cool, kind of wild too!

Education is a passion of mine and there have been a lot of educators on both sides of my family for over a century.  I have two wonderful children (currently 17 and 20 growing up fast) and a lovely wife.  On weekends we can often be found on a trail, on a peak, on a beach, on a field, or in the water, somewhere outdoors.... Oh and numbers, well, they follow me too, because math is EVERYWHERE!
